Welcome to A Source of Art Gallery, one of Ottawa's few non-profit artist's cooperatives. It was started by a small group of artists as an alternative to privately owned galleries. Their motive was to provide an affordable venue for displaying art work. The first location was in the Byward Market Building in Ottawa. Subsequently, there was a move to the Fifth Avenue Court in the Glebe where it stayed until 1996. In this location the ASA Gallery enjoyed a growing membership and a loyal clientele. The nature of non-profit organizations being what it is, the Gallery moved to the Village Art Shop in Westboro under the benevolent supervision of the late Otto. The Gallery has since been situated on its present premises since the Fall, 1997.
ASA is community based and welcomes all those interested in art. It's a great place to share concerns, browse, socialise and find beautiful reasonably priced artwork. The work presented is as diverse as the Gallery's membership base. Membership applications are accepted on a continual basis, and the Gallery is open all year' round. Come and visit us!
