There are several charts related to the Common Ancestors group.
The Common Ancestors chapter from the book.
These ancestors lived in Frankenberg and other towns in the northeastern part of the state of Hesse .
The following charts show the ancestors of Amalie Marx and Abraham Katzenstein.
As discussed in the book and as is evident from the
genealogical chart the relationships
among the families of this couple are extremely complicated. We have Hannchen Marx, a daughter
of Issak Marx by his first marriage, marrying Jakob Löb Katz-Stiefel, the brother of his second
wife Jette Stiefel. Then
Hannchen Marx, the daughter of this latter couple, married Samuel Marx who was the
son of Issak Marx and Jette Stiefel!
We have many
documents
relative to this couple. in particular with respect to their marriages.
From a discussion in Brandt (see page 41 of the text) we obtain an insight into
Jette Stiefel's life
after the death of Issac Marx (1840) and her remarriage to Herz Marx (ca.1846).
They are persons 0 in [Schneider].
The names of the parents of Jette Stiefel, for whom there is no BD, appear on the BD of her sister
Amelia Katz and her brother Jakob Löb Katz-Stiefel. The 1783 BD of of Selig Katz is quite early for
the Jews of North Hesse.
His DD is also available. These are copies of the
documents
related to this family.

These names appear on the
BD of their son Selig Katz.
He is person 00 in [Schneider].
