Request for a reference letter from me
I will gladly consider writing a reference letter for
you if you have worked on a research project with me, or
you have taken an upper-year course from me and
you had a grade of at least A-, or you were placed among
the top 20% of the class. Otherwise, I will not be
able to write a letter that is of much benefit to you.
If I do agree to write a letter for you, please
provide me with the following information.
- Your university transcripts.
- Your resume or curriculum vitae.
- Your statement of interests for graduate studies if applying for
graduate school.
- All the required forms that I need to fill out. (Please have the parts
you need to complete filled out.)
- A deadline for completing the letter.
(You should give me at least 2 weeks notice.)
- Instructions on where to send the reference letter.
- Any other relevant information about your abilities.
