I come from Crete, where I also spent my undergraduate years pursuing a BSc in Mathematics. I continued my studies in Canada, where I obtained a MSc and, recently, a PhD in Mathematics under the supervision of Daniel Panario.
I have a background in finite fields and I am particularly interested in their application in various areas of discrete mathematics, as well as their practical use in communications, experimental design and cryptography.
In my PhD thesis I used finite fields in the context of a variety of topics, such as LFSR sequences, coding theory, finite geometry and combinatorial algorithms, to contribute to the theoretical study and practical construction of covering arrays, which are used extensively for testing purposes in software development and manufacturing.
