General Information

• Tentative lecture schedule (html file) as of August 2007 (before classes start).
  The actual material covered in each lecture is below.
• Textbook:
  • ``Number Theory and Computer Applications'', by R. Kumanduri and C. Romero, Prentice Hall, 1998.
• Prerequisites:
  • MATH 2100 or 3101 or 2108 or equivalent; or permission of the School.
  • Knowledge of a computer language or mathematical software.
• Classes begin: Thursday, September 6, 2007.
  Classes end: Friday, November 30, 2007.
  No tutorial on: Friday, October 5, 2007.
• Term mark: There will be two midterm tests:

  Moreover, there will be two assignments:

  You are expected to do all assignments and tests. No make up, early, or delayed assignments and tests. Any missing assignment or test will be counted as zero. Medical excuses, other than hospitalization, will not be considered.
  
  Important: to pass the course you need at least 30% in midterm tests (equivalent to 12% out of the 40% of the total marks corresponding to midterm tests).
  Total portion of the final mark in assignments: 10%. Total portion of the final mark in midterm tests: 40%.

• Evaluation: Term mark is 50% and final exam is 50%.

• Calculators are allowed for midterms and final exam.

• Withdrawal: The last day for withdrawal from the course without academic penalties is November 09, 2007.

• Students with Disabilities: Students with Disabilities who require academic accommodations please feel free to see me, and contact the Paul Menton Centre to complete the required forms. Last day to submit (to the Paul Menton Centre for Students with Disabilities) Formal Examination Accommodation Forms for December examinations is November 09, 2007.
