General Information

• Tentative lecture schedule (html file) as of August 2005 (before classes start).
  The actual material covered in each lecture is below.
• Textbook:
  • ``Number Theory and Computer Applications'', by R. Kumanduri and C. Romero, Prentice Hall, 1998.
• Prerequisites:
  • MATH 2100 or 3101 or 2108 or equivalent; or permission of the School.
  • Knowledge of a computer language or mathematical software.
• Classes begin: Thursday, September 8, 2005.
  Classes end: Thursday, December 1, 2005.
  No tutorial on: Friday, October 7, 2005.
• Term mark: There will be two midterm tests:

  Moreover, there will be two assignments:

  You are expected to do all assignments and tests. No make up, early, or delayed assignments and tests. Any missing assignment or test will be counted as zero.
  Important: to pass the course you need at least 30% in midterm tests (equivalent to 12% out of the 40% of the total marks corresponding to midterm tests).
  Total portion of the final mark in assignments: 10%. Total portion of the final mark in midterm tests: 40%.
