Workshop on Profinite Groups with Applications
We are pleased to announce a Workshop on Profinite Groups with Applications, sponsored by the Fields Institute.
The meeting will take place August 8-11, 2005 at Carleton University in Ottawa, Canada.

- Moshe Jarden (Tel Aviv University): Relatively projective profinite groups and pseudo-closed fields
- Alex Lubotzky (Hebrew University): Counting primes, groups and manifolds
- Luis Ribes (Carleton University): Introduction to profinite groups
- Benjamin Steinberg (Carleton University): Profinite groups in automata and semigroup theory
- John Wilson (Oxford University): Separability properties of groups
